Board of Education donates signed books to each school

Students at every school in the Monticello Central School District (MCSD), including Project Excel, will have some new literary choices, thanks to a donation from the Board of Education. At the inaugural Sullivan County Book Festival held in late May, members of the Board of Education secured a variety of books, many signed by the author, to add to the district’s libraries.

On Tuesday, June 11, Board President Lori Orestano-James and Superintendent Tammy Mangus visited each school in the district to hand-deliver the Board’s donation to the students. Ms. Orestano-James read the inscription from each author to an audience of excited students at each stop, and then spoke of the importance of developing a love of reading.
