Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School will welcome a familiar face to its leadership team this school year as Paige Moore was appointed as KLR’s new assistant principal at the Sept. 3 Board of Education meeting.
Ms. Moore brings a decade of experience as an educator in the district and a strong connection to the Monticello community as a district alumna.
After 10 years of teaching kindergarten, Moore said she was motivated to pursue a leadership role to expand her impact on students, families and staff.
“After working in the district as an educator for 10 years, and being an alumna of Monticello, I wanted to support the students, families and staff at Monticello in a greater capacity,” Ms. Moore said. “In the classroom, I build a community based on kindness, responsibility and mutual respect, and at the building level, I plan to do the same.”
Throughout her career, Ms. Moore has taken on numerous leadership roles, including serving as a grade-level leader, committee chair, mentor teacher and union representative. She said those experiences have helped prepare her for the transition into administration.
“My 10 years of experience teaching kindergarten has taught me patience, creativity and compassion,” Moore said. “My work as a grade-level leader, committee chair, mentor teacher and union representative has taught me the skills to collaborate with colleagues, support educators in strengthening instructional skills, create a positive culture and climate, and advocate for the needs of students.”
The new role also marks a return to Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary, where Moore began her career in education.
“I am looking forward to returning to KLR, where my journey as an educator began, helping to support my colleagues in providing effective, high-quality instruction to our students and building relationships with families,” she said.
Outside of school, Moore is a proud mother of two children: a son entering sixth grade and a daughter entering second grade.
As she prepares to begin this new chapter, Moore said she is excited to continue building strong relationships with students, staff and families while helping foster a positive learning environment for all members of the school community.
