About our custodial team:

From mopping the floor to fixing a lightbulb, our custodial team keeps our buildings safe and shining. New members of the team can expect to perform cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. These roles offer pathways for advancement to supervisory roles.

    What we offer

    • Excellent health benefits
    • Option to join the New York State Retirement System
    • Generous vacation and time off
    • 2 – 11 p.m. shift
    • Employee Assistance Program, including wellness, coaching, counseling, legal assistance, financial planning resources and more

Not looking for a commitment? Just want to pick up an extra shift here and there? Apply to be a substitute custodial worker!

Choose your own schedule as a substitute! Substitute workers enjoy the flexibility to choose their own schedule and may work as little or as much as they choose (based upon available shifts). Their schedule follows the schedule of the school district, making it a great choice for parents of MCSD students, retirees or anyone who is looking for a rewarding and flexible job.

The Monticello School District maintains a master list of substitute teachers, teaching assistants, teacher aides, monitors, typists, registered nurses and food service workers. This list is used by each of the schools to contact substitutes when a regular employee is absent. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the district’s job application platform.

*Exact benefits vary by position – substitute positions do not receive health benefits or paid time off. Please contact the Human Resources Department for more information.
