The Monticello Central School District will use scheduled two-hour delays during the 2026-27 school year instead of the half-days used last year for Professional Learning Community, or PLC, work.
2026-27 scheduled PLC two-hour delays:
- Oct. 22
- Dec. 10
- Jan. 21
- Feb. 10
- May 18
On these dates, employees will begin their regular workday while students arrive two hours later than their usual start time. Bus pickup times will also be approximately two hours later than normal.
The change will preserve more of the instructional day for students while continuing to provide educators with dedicated time to collaborate.
About PLC work at Monticello Central School District:
During the 2025-26 school year, the district expanded its use of PLCs to strengthen teaching and learning across the district. Through this work, teachers collaborate to review student learning, share effective instructional practices, examine curriculum and identify ways to provide additional support or enrichment.
Monticello will continue building upon last year’s PLC work throughout the 2026-27 school year. Dedicated time for teacher collaboration is also included as an action step in the district’s new Blueprint for Excellence strategic plan.
