Students from Monticello High School recently participated in Law Day at the Sullivan County Courthouse, where they took part in a mock trial experience alongside students from across the region. Acting as jurors, students listened to testimony, reviewed evidence, and worked through the process of deliberation to reach a verdict.

The experience gave students a firsthand look at how the court system operates and offered valuable insight into civic responsibility, the legal process, and the importance of critical thinking and collaboration. Students also had the opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session with legal professionals, helping them better understand careers and roles within the justice system.

Thank you to the Sullivan County Commissioner of Jurors Office and the Sullivan County Bar Association for providing this meaningful learning opportunity for our students.
