Statement re: social media post made by RJK student

Law enforcement partners notified Monticello Central School District administrators this morning, May 6, 2026, regarding a social media post made overnight by a student at Robert J. Kaiser Middle School. Following an investigation, law enforcement advised the District that they did not identify a credible threat to the school community.

District administration is continuing to review the matter and will determine whether disciplinary action consistent with the District’s Code of Conduct is appropriate.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. The District takes all reports of potential threats seriously and works closely with law enforcement to assess and respond promptly to any concerns. We encourage parents and caregivers to speak with their children about the seriousness of online statements and the disruption, fear, and consequences such conduct can cause within the school community.
