Message from Superintendent Evans re: snow days

Dear Monticello CSD Community Member,

I hope this letter finds you healthy and well.

As of today, the district has five (5) emergency closure days remaining for this school year. Should these remaining five days be used for emergency closures or “snow days,” we will “take back” the following as days for in-person student instruction (in order):

1. If one (1) additional day of student instruction is needed: April 17, 2026, will be a day of in-person student instruction.
2. If two (2) additional days of student instruction are needed: April 17 and April 6, 2026, will be days of in-person student instruction.

These “take back” days are consistent with the academic calendar adopted by the Board of Education at its February 20, 2025, meeting.

If any emergency closure is needed beyond these two (2) additional days, schools will switch to remote instruction on any emergency closure day thereafter.

We recognize that families and individuals might be planning trips or events for the scheduled holidays, and we wanted you to be aware of any potential changes to the school’s academic calendar.

We will make additional announcements should any of these days be needed for in-person student instruction.

Should you have any questions regarding this, please contact your school’s office.

Stay well, and happy holidays!

With Monti Pride,

Matthew T. Evans, Ed. D.
