Earlier today, a Monticello High School student struck a staff member while in school. The staff member is receiving medical treatment but is expected to return to work, soon. Law enforcement was immediately contacted, and an investigation is underway.
While privacy laws prohibit sharing specific details, disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with our Code of Conduct and in cooperation with law enforcement.
Student and staff safety is our highest priority, and incidents of violence are unacceptable in our buildings, and will not be tolerated.
