Our friends at the Wurtsboro Fire Department and Bloomingburg Fire Company visited the Emma C. Chase Elementary School last week for a Fire Safety Assembly.
Students gathered in the playground to learn important safety tips, watch some of the fire equipment in action, and hang out with crowd-pleaser Dally the Dalmatian — Wurtsboro Fire Department’s official mascot. After the assembly, the winners of the Fire Safety Essay Contest were announced, and received their certificates, before all headed back to the classrooms, where there was one more surprise! Dally and crew headed over to our youngest students’ classrooms to pass out some special gifts, courtesy of the Wurtsboro Fire Department Auxiliary — coloring sheets and their very own personal fire hats!
