Teachers will begin the school year with using anywhere from 10-20 minutes of each period to introduce course specific expectations, teach strategies for using our online resources, review school-wide expectations, and begin the development of a learning community.  This time restriction will only last the first few days as teachers communicate their expectations for synchronous and asynchronous learning and begin scheduling them with students. The time restrictions also allow students to get to know the Microsoft Teams learning management system and ease their way into the pacing of online schooling. College in the classroom (CIC) courses may use more time from the start of the school year.

Please be sure to read the plan for device distribution and contact your student’s guidance counselor if you need assistance with your student’s educational program. Please contact your student’s teacher with any course-specific questions.

The First Day of School – Hybrid

The only students who will be coming to the school building on Monday, Sept. 14, are students who have been confirmed for Cohort C.  Students will participate in the health screening process upon arrival, pick up a grab-and-go breakfast, and will be directed to their assigned classroom. Adults will be in the hallways to greet the students and help them find their classroom. Once in the classroom, students will have their day explained to them and we will collect their lunch orders. Teachers will rotate into the classroom during each period of the day for instruction, supervision, and support.

Beginning Sept. 14 all students should work remotely until his or her cohort and grade begins in-person instruction as outlined in the calendar. Please note that you can zoom in on the calendar by holding down the “control” key and “+” sign on your keyboard on a PC, or by holding down the “command” key and “+” on a Mac. On a mobile device, you can pinch and zoom.

Once their cohort and grade begins in-person instruction, they will follow their regular hybrid cohort schedule as shown below. High school students were notified of their cohort assignment via robocall at the end of the first week in September. Please contact your guidance counselor with any questions.
