UPDATED at 2:38 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 6:

On Friday, Nov. 6, Monticello district administrators learned that a student at the Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in the building on Thursday, Nov. 5, and does not ride the school bus. Upon notification, the district immediately isolated all identified direct contacts, per the illness management protocols in Our Path Forward. The district ultimately identified and contacted 10 students and six staff members who were in direct contact with the positive case and advised them to isolate until contacted by the Sullivan County Public Health Services with further instruction.

Based upon the circumstances surrounding the case, and in consultation with the PHS, KLR will be opened as planned on Monday, Nov. 9. The school will be fully disinfected over the weekend, in accordance with our cleaning protocols.
