Positive COVID-19 case at Cooke; the Cooke school will close Tuesday, Sept. 29

A staff member at the George L. Cooke Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The Monticello Central School District is working closely with the Sullivan County Department of Health to assist with contact tracing and notifying individuals who may have had direct contact with the impacted individual.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Cooke building will be closed to all students and staff on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for cleaning and disinfection. All Cooke students will learn remotely on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The district will share additional public information as it becomes available.
