Monticello Math Team takes second place in league championships

Congratulations to the Monticello Math Team who competed in the math playoffs on Jan. 11 in Goshen, after taking first place in the sectionals against Tri-Valley and Fallsburg back in the autumn. The team battled Valley Central, Monroe-Woodbury, Middletown, Goshen and Wallkill to take home a second-place league championship.

Students competed by answering questions from five categories: speed and accuracy, calculator, proportional reasoning, geometry, wild card and team relay. Each team picks five students to answer each question, and the teams place based upon the number of correct answers.

Great job, Monticello Math Team!
