On Sunday, Nov. 7 four senior soccer players played in Section IX’s Exceptional Senior Soccer Game at Newburgh Free Academy. Four seniors — two from MHS’ girls soccer team and two from MHS’ boys soccer team — were selected to participate in the game. Yami Escobar and Karen Perilla-Buitrage played for the girls “west” team and Bairon Osario Velasquez and Frankie Skala played for the boys “west” team. Both teams went home winners, with the West Boys winning at 2 p.m. and West Girls winning at 4 p.m. — with Karen Perilla Buitrage scoring one of the winning goals.
