The Monticello High School Performing Arts Department participated in several exciting trips to New York City over the past few weeks.
First, the Tri-M Music Honor Society had the opportunity to see “Operation Mincemeat”, an exciting new Broadway production. As an added bonus, the students were able to meet and talk with pit orchestra member Mark Verdino, who is currently playing bass in the show.

A few days later, music students made their way back to NYC, this time to see Verdi’s famed opera “La Traviata” at the Metropolitan Opera House. Both opportunities offered students an exciting, firsthand look at the thrills of live performance, which will offer some exciting motivation in their own upcoming spring performances in a few short weeks!
