MHS baseball team spends day in Cooperstown after win

On Friday, April 21,  the Varsity Boys Baseball team defeated Sullivan West 9-4 at historic Doubleday Field in Cooperstown NY. Irvin Oestrich led the charge for the Panthers with a 3-Run Home Run in the top of the third inning and the Panthers never looked back.

Doubleday Field, named after Abner Doubleday, who is credited with founding the modern day game of baseball, has also been home to the annual Major League Baseball Hall of Fame game. Following the game, Coach Cordisco organized a tour of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum for the entire team and coaching staff. It was an incredible and historic day for Monticello Baseball.
