Fourth-grade students write letters to veterans

Rutherford Elementary School practiced two important skills in ELA class this week – letter writing and an attitude of gratitude. With Veterans Day just a few days away, the students worked on writing letters to local veterans. The students all thanked the veterans for their service. Some students asked questions about what their time in the military was like, some students wrote about family members who are currently in the military and others just took the opportunity to introduce themselves. Ms. Mackiel will deliver the letters to the Sullivan County Government Center letter this week to be distributed.
