Chase students visit the Bashakill

Right in our backyard is a beautiful preserve that is home to many different species of animals, birds, and fish.  The third grade at Emma C. Chase Elementary School was able to visit the Mamakating Environmental Education Center, (MEEC), and learn about this wetland firsthand from the director,  Jackie Broder.  They were treated to a slide show presentation about many of the animals that call the Bashakill their home and were able to ask questions. After learning about the animals, the trip culminated with a nature walk to see other interesting features of the Bashakill.
