Chase students reimagine John Lennon’s “Real Love”

In early November, fourth and fifth-grade students at the Emma C. Chase Elementary School participated in an assembly facilitated by the John Lennon Real Love Project (JLRLP). According to the organization’s website, the JLRLP is a “visionary songwriting workshop in which participants compose their own songs and sing their truth.”

During the workshop, students learned about John Lennon’s life and music, and the values of peace, equality and kindness before creating new lyrics to the song “Real Love.” The organization then recorded the students singing their creation, and imposed it onto the original track.
