Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School is bringing students, families and community members together to create something colorful during its Family Engagement Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
No artistic experience is needed to join the fun. Participants will help bring a collaborative mural designed by local artist Joshua Noah to life through a communitywide paint-by-numbers experience. Each person will contribute a small part to a finished work of art that the entire KLR community can enjoy.
Refreshments, sponsored by the NAACP, will be provided. Students will also have an opportunity to receive free school supplies sponsored by My Brother’s Keeper while supplies last.
Families are encouraged to come ready to paint, connect with neighbors and leave their mark on KLR!
To assist with event planning, families are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 16, by completing the form distributed by the school and returning it to their child’s classroom teacher.
