Last Thursday, students and staff at the Summer Learning Academy came together for a school community-wide pizza party, celebrating their literacy growth and engaging as a school-wide community. Junior Panthers continue to participate in meaningful literacy experiences designed to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of reading.
The celebration offered students a unique opportunity to “do it themselves” by selecting their own toppings with the support and guidance of our dedicated food service staff. This hands-on experience encouraged independence, decision-making, and collaboration while adding an extra layer of excitement to the sight words utilized on the menu.
As students gathered to enjoy a meal with classmates, teachers, and staff, the pizza party highlighted the importance of building a strong school community where academic growth and positive relationships go hand-in-hand. The event served as a wonderful reminder that literacy learning extends beyond the classroom and flourishes in welcoming environments where students feel connected, supported, and celebrated.
