This afternoon, several students at Monticello High School were involved in two related altercations in the school. Monticello High School’s administrators, faculty, staff, security and school resource officer promptly responded and secured the scene. At no point during these incidents were any weapons or firearms involved, dislodged or unsecured.
The district is investigating these incidents, and will take every step necessary to protect the safety of our students and staff, in accordance with our Code of Conduct.
We do not tolerate this behavior in our schools, and we appreciate the efforts of our staff and local law enforcement, who responded so quickly to safely deescalate the situation.
