Firefighters from the Monticello Fire Department and Rock Hill Fire Department joined forces to visit the students at the George L. Cooke Elementary School for a fire prevention assembly.
MFD member, Alex Bisland, led the presentation, which helped students learn the importance of smoke alarms, fire prevention basics, and what to do in an emergency. Then, the firefighters donned their full gear, and walked around the gym, letting the students get up close and personal with the sounds and sights they might see if a firefighter must ever come to their rescue.
On behalf of the entire community, we thank the MFD and RHFD for their service, and for taking the time to teach our Panthers these important lessons.
