Congratulations to Monticello High School seniors Diya Patel and Owen Messenger who were named as Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Scholar Athletes for the 2024-25 school year.
This annual award is presented by the OCIAA to one female and one male student from each OCIAA school, who ranks in the top 20 percent of his or her class, participates in at least one varsity sport, and is an above-average athlete who demonstrates outstanding citizenship.
The two were honored at the association’s annual Scholar Athlete Breakfast on Thursday, June 12.
