KLR families celebrate Multi-Cultural Night

The Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School held its Multi-Cultural Night on Thursday, Oct. 23. This annual event invites KLR families to celebrate the many different heritages, cultures and traditions that comprise the school community.

The event kicked off with a community meal, followed by activities including dance lessons, trivia, crafts and games, before culminating with a dance performance and cake.

Students created posters showcasing their culture, and the posters were displayed in the school’s gym for attendees to peruse before or in-between sessions.

Monticello High School students Nashlye Caraballo-Lalane, Dymond Rosa, and Isaiah Sanchez put on an energizing dance show, setting the stage for a traditional Mexican folk dance performance from local group Colores de mi Tierra.

It was an incredible evening of food, fun and friendship!
