Pre-school registration
Monticello families with three and four-year old children may now register for the St. John Street Community School Preschool program lottery. All registrations must be completed by April 15 in order to be entered in the lottery, and families will be notified of their status during the week of April 20.
Your child does not need to accompany you to register.
Step 1:
Interested parents must call the registrar’s office at at (845) 794-7700, ext. 78905 to make an appointment to register their child for either program during the month of April.
Step 2:
Complete the online pre-registration
Arrive to your registration appointment, with all necessary documentation:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Child’s most recent immunization record and physical
- Proof of residence (electric bill, lease, tax bill, etc.)
- Parent’s photo ID (driver’s license, etc.)
- Custody papers, if applicable
Who is eligible to register?
Children must be three years of age by Dec. 1, 2026 to register for the three-year old program and children must be four years of age by Dec. 1, 2026 to register for the four-year-old program.
The program will be lottery-based, and the families of students who receive a spot in the program will be notified in May. You must be registered by April 15 to be eligible for the lottery. If all spots are not filled, the program will then open up for registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
