Students at G.L. Cooke Elementary School are getting ready for Thanksgiving!
The day began with the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Balloon Parade. Each student from Mrs. Liebman, Miss McCormick, Mrs. Somers, and Miss VanHorn’s classes created a special Thanksgiving balloon and proudly paraded through the hallways.

Next, second graders enjoyed a festive pie tasting! They traveled from room to room sampling delicious flavors:
- Cherry pie in Mrs. Morello and Mrs. Dunne’s room
- Pumpkin pie in Mrs. Ruston’s room
- Apple pie in Mrs. Kilcoin and Miss D’Agata’s room
- Coconut cream pie in Ms. Furey’s room

All of this happened while students watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on screen.
Meanwhile, in the other second-grade classrooms—Mrs. Mabee, Mrs. Rutledge, Ms. Brun, and Ms. O’Neill—the celebration continued with a fun snack mix activity! Each student added a special ingredient to a large bowl, which was expertly tossed by the talented Mr. Wilbur. The mix was then bagged for every student to take home and enjoy.
