Positive COVID-19 case at MHS; school expected to open Sept. 8 as scheduled

Dear Monticello CSD Community Member,

Yesterday, we received notice that an individual in Monticello High School tested positive for COVID-19. This individual had been in the school since Monday, August 30.

High School administration determined the individual was in contact with approximately five (5) others who, we believe, will most likely be quarantined by Sullivan County Public Health Services. We have attempted to reach the individuals who have been identified as tentative contacts. We are also coordinating contact tracing with Sullivan County Public Health Services.

All areas of the school have been regularly disinfected, and we’ll continue to disinfect these areas consistent with our COVID-19 protocols.

If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your health care provider.

All Monticello schools will be open for their first day of school on September 8.

We hope that all of you remain healthy, or, if sick, recover soon. Stay well.

With Monti Pride,
Matthew T. Evans, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
