Cooke holds “cookie elections” in honor of Election Day

Second-grade students at the George L. Cooke Elementary School held “cookie elections” in honor of Election Day. With the help of a read-aloud of the book I Voted by Mark Shulman, students learned about the voting process, and then put their knowledge into practice by choosing their favorite cookie at the ballot box.

Chocolate chip cookies swept most of the 300 wing with some classes holding out strong for Oreo. It was an informative, fun and engaging time for all, especially when the voting results transformed into a surprise special snack the following day!
