MHS staff member tests positive for coronavirus; DOH believes risk of exposure to be low

A Monticello High School staff member contacted the building’s principal  to report that they had received a positive diagnosis of COVID-19. The individual was last inside of the school on Wednesday, March 11, did not begin displaying symptoms until March 15 and was tested on March 19. Although the probability of this individual spreading the virus to others at Monticello High School is considered to be low by the Department of Health, we encourage any person who is experiencing fever, difficulty breathing or other symptoms associated with COVID-19 to contact their healthcare provider for further instruction. The Department of Health is in contact with the affected individual and will follow up directly with any persons who may have had direct exposure.
