MHS Graduation 2023 – June 25, 2023

Graduation for the Class of 2023 will take place on campus again this year!

Location & Time

We are prioritizing an outdoor graduation ceremony, if the weather forecast allows, at 10:00 am.   The 10:00 am start time will help take advantage of the cooler morning temperatures.  The location also maximizes the morning shade to help keep the space cooler.  We took into consideration the background for the stage/dais for pictures and the location will offer a more private and wooded landscape.  Our district purchased a brand-new stage for this occasion.

Being outdoors, we have the space for up to 6 guests per graduate.  We are going to have seating available for all guests.  We will also have indoor seating in the RJK Middle School cafeteria, with live streaming through multiple TVs, for guests who would prefer to be on site but indoors.  If you time it right, guests can watch most of the ceremony indoors and get outside to watch their graduate walk the stage.

If we have inclement weather, the graduation ceremony will be moved indoors, with a start time of 1:00 pm.  Due to the capacity of our auditorium, we will be able to have 4 guests for each graduate in this space.  We will have a secondary area in the gymnasium with live streaming for the remaining 2 guests per graduate.  We will have a large screen, projector, and speakers in the space to accommodate viewing and listening.

Parking Information

We will have an application for handicapped parking available for pick up in our main office beginning May 30th and will require the document to be filled out in its entirety, with a photo, or a copy, of the state issued handicap tag, showing the name of who it was issued to. The application is also available online.  The application is due to the high school main office, no later than June 16th at 3:00 pm.  All guests must have a valid MHS issued pass to park in the reserved spots on graduation day.  Otherwise, shuttle buses will be provided.

Ceremony Etiquette

At the outdoor ceremony, please know that we will be enforcing a no umbrella rule to ensure all our guests have unobstructed views of the ceremony.  In addition, there will be no open bottles permitted.  You are welcome to bring sealed water bottles with you.   We will also have water bottles for sale as part of our Junior, soon to be Senior, Class fundraiser.
