The members of New York’s local school boards are an invaluable resource as local decision-makers. They respond to the respective needs of their communities, serving the interests of school children and preparing them for the future.
The men and women elected as members of school boards devote many hours of service to public education and continually strive for improvement, quality, and progress in education.
The Monticello Central School District Board of Education merits recognition and commendation for its members’ dedicated service to the people and children of this community. Board of Education members are volunteers. They put in many hours of work at meetings, events and conferences to be able to competently guide and recommend direction to school district officials, with their main focus always being to ensure a quality educational program for the children of the district.
Board Meetings
Board meetings are typically held twice per month, on the first and third Thursday of the month. The location rotates among the district’s buildings. A full list of Board meetings and locations is available on the district’s digital calendar, and on the Board of Education calendar on the left of this page (bottom, on mobile).
The public is welcome to attend any open meeting of the Board of Education. There are two opportunities for public comment at each public meeting. Please review policy 1230 to learn more about the guidelines for public comment during Board meetings.
