Summer programs at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Library

A message from the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library:

The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library has an exciting summer reading program planned! Sign-ups for the summer reading program will began June 18th and activities will start Monday, July 1st. There will be a variety of activities for kids, tweens, & teens this summer.

The 2019 summer reading theme is “A Universe of Stories” and that we are hoping kids will join us as we explore all things space related. From a Tinker Tots exploration program, to Astronaut Camp, and Space”Crafts”, to Ssips & Paint, there will be great events for all ages. Special performers will visit on July 24th, & 31st, as well as August 7th & 14th. Due to high demand and limited space, registration is required for most program. You can register for programs online at ebcpl.org on the youth calendar. Give us a call at 845-794-4660 or stop by with any questions.

There is an exciting lineup of programs for tweens & teens too. The teens will be sorted into their Hogwarts houses this summer and will earn house points for reading and completing challenges. The winning house will be awarded with a pizza feast fit for a school full of magical students! Teens will learn to make solar powered ovens, create their own t-shirts & potions, and will even compete in Marvel-themed trivia! Good Luck and may the best house win!

All children up to age 18 are invited to participate in our Universe of Stories Writing Contest. Simply submit a typed original story up to 10 pages in length by August 5th. Winners will be published in book which will be distributed around town and available at the library. All summer reading participants will have the opportunity to win great prizes, ranging from a Nintendo Switch, Kindle Fire Tablets, book sets, slime kits, DIY Robot Kits, local gift cards, and more.
