The Monticello Central School District uses several different measures to disseminate information to the community in relation to school closings, delays and dismissals. Please note: parents who are concerned with road conditions in their neighborhoods are advised to use their own judgement in sending their child(ren) to school.

Important information about school closings, delays and early dismissal will be posted on the district home page. School closing information will also be shared via Facebook.

Sign up for SchoolMessenger
SchoolMessenger is an opt-in automated alert system that provides timely communication to parents and staff members on matters such as attendance, general interest activities and campus and district emergencies. Visit or contact your child’s school for more information.

Listen to local TV and radio stations
Parents can get information by listening to the radio and television stations which broadcast delayed openings, early dismissals and closing announcements. The following radio and television stations carry our announcements: Thunder 102, WJFF (90.5), WSUL (98.3), WVOS (95.9) WNBC (Channel 4), and TWCN (Cable 6).

Attention parents; make plans for early dismissals
If there is an early dismissal, after-school activities are usually cancelled. If your children participates in an after-school children care program, please be sure to check with the program’s director regarding hours of availability during severe winter weather. Parents should make arrangements for child care if schools are dismissed when they are not at home.

Additional Notes
If you need to make changes to your contact information, please notify your child’s teacher.
With an early dismissal, all afterschool activities are cancelled.
