‘Parenting the Second Time Around’ program offered free for caregivers

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County, in partnership with the Empire State Program and the Monticello Central School District, is offering a free parenting series each Tuesday, from May 7 through June 11, for grandparents and other kinship caregivers who are in the parenting role.

“Parenting the Second Time Around” program topics include:

  • Changing roles and responsibilities
  • Discipline that really works
  • Rebuilding a family
  • Teen concerns and challenges
  • Community resources
  • Techniques and understanding children’s development and behavior.

This series is free and will be held at George L. Cooke School, 69 Richardson Ave., Monticello on May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4 and 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.
