Monticello High School Key Club End of Year Celebration

June 16, 2016

The Monticello High School Key Club ended its school year of community service activities with a pizza party, recognition of outgoing officers and elections of new officers for the next year. The Key Club is a service leadership club led by high school students. This event was sponsored by the Monticello Kiwanis Club.

The outgoing officers (seniors Adrian Mierzwa; President; Cristiane Salcedo; Vice President; Michele Rodriquez; Secretary and Jaclynn Sorensen; Treasurer) each received a Certificate of Appreciation from Jane Sorensen, Monticello Kiwanis President and Sheila Lashinsky, Key Club Advisor for Kiwanis.

Each senior club member was presented with a graduation cord by Key Club Faculty Advisors Candice Andrejcisk and Steven Raabe to be worn with their cap and gown at graduation in recognition of the dedication and commitment to service that these seniors demonstrated throughout the school year.

The newly elected officers for 2016-2017 are Victoria Simonova, President; Sara Sorensen, Vice President; Emma Silverstein, Treasurer; and Thomas Cammerino and Lina Rios, Co-Secretaries. Many of these individuals were previously active members of the Middle School Builders Club and they are continuing to expand on their community service and leadership qualities by taking on the Key Club officer positions. They already have some great ideas planned to assure a very successful and rewarding upcoming year.
