Authorities are investigating reported discussion of weapon sale between students

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office has announced an investigation following a report of a conversation between Monticello High School students about the potential sale and purchase of a weapon.

On Monday, Feb. 22, a bus driver and transportation aide reported that they had overheard a conversation between students involving the sale and purchase of a weapon while boarding buses at the Sullivan County BOCES Rubin Pollack Education Center. Monticello Central School District officials immediately contacted the Sheriff's Office.

Student safety is the district’s top priority. The district will continue to work with authorities and Sullivan County BOCES administration as the investigation continues and post any updates to our website,, if and when they are available.
