Schools to dismiss early Friday, Oct. 9 for county-wide drill

All buildings will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than usual

October 6, 2015

On Friday, Oct. 9, the Monticello Central School District, as well as all the other schools in Sullivan County, will participate in an early release emergency drill. This will be in response to a mock disaster.

The entire district will dismiss buildings 15 minutes earlier than their regular times.

Students from Monticello High School and Robert J. Kaiser Middle School will be released at 1:48 p.m. Students from Emma C. Chase, George L. Cooke and Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary Schools will be released at 3:07 p.m.

All after school activities are cancelled and there will be no late buses. (Varsity athletes should check with their coaches about specific team schedules.) Students will depart from school 15 minutes earlier than usual, so parents are asked to make arrangements for you or a guardian to be at their child’s bus stop 20 minutes before regular pick-up time.

This drill is for schools in Sullivan County ONLY. St Peter’s Regional School, Hebrew Day, Sullivan County BOCES and Monticello Central School District will be released early. Schools that are located in neighboring counties will not be participating in the drill.
