Throughout the year, Teacher in the Spotlight will shine the light on teachers and staff who do exceptional things
for our students, and go above and beyond each and every day.

This week’s Teacher Spotlight is focused on Monticello High School ELA teacher Ellen Nutters.

Our school community is extremely fortunate to have a teacher like Ellen Nutters. She is bright, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate, and she shares these qualities with her students each and every day. Mrs. Nutters has a love for the English language, as well as teaching, and her students know she genuinely cares. Ellen Nutters teacher spotlight

Mrs. Nutters goes above and beyond to challenge her students in the classroom to promote academic growth, as well as personal growth. She constantly models how to be a life-long learner for her students as she continues to grow personally and professionally by reading.

Mrs. Nutters never allows students to be complacent or settle for achieving less than their potential. One will often find Mrs. Nutters supporting the students in their extracurricular activities by cheering for them on the field, the stage, or elsewhere. Students and teachers alike look to Mrs. Nutters for advice. She is always one of the first to step forward to volunteer, and everyone knows she has an eye for fashion.

"Mrs . Nutters is a spirited woman who has had such a huge positive impact on the Monticello students and staff and we are grateful for her commitment," said MHS Assistant Principal Virginia Morse.

Congratulations, Mrs. Nutters!

We applaud you for being greater than the average!
