Dylan Price, Dayshawn York named winners in Black History Month essay contest

February is Black History Month, and Cooke students entered an essay contest sponsored by Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther. The essay answered the question, "Whom do you most admire?" With the help of Library Assistant Roseanne Gree, several students entered and there were two winners from Cooke Elementary School.

Dylan Price, a fourth grade student in Megan Smith's ckass, and Dayshawn York, a fifth grader in Yesenia Kreeger’s class, both wrote about baseball legend Jackie Robinson and were named winners in the contest.
