Chef Andy encourages students to eat breakfast at school

Menu selection to include breakfast burritos, scrambled eggs and pancake and sausage on a stick

March 21, 2013

Chef Andy, School Food Service Manager, would like to encourage all students to enjoy a balanced, nutritious breakfast when they arrive at school each day.

Studies have shown that when students consume “the most important meal of the day,” they perform at a higher level of achievement than those who forego having breakfast.

Chef Andy and his student dining team are working hard to provide upgraded menu selections such as Colby Cheese Omelets, Sausage and Egg Breakfast Burritos, Pancake and Sausage on a Stick, French Toast, Warm Bagels with Cream Cheese or Real Sweet Cream Butter, Scrambled Eggs with Warm Biscuits, Assorted Low Sugar Chilled Cereals, Oat Meal, and much more.

Beginning April 1, students in all Monticello Schools will enjoy a choice of entrees at breakfast in an effort to broaden the spectrum of dining guests in the morning.

Chef encourages parents to provide feedback and suggestions with respect to menu items offered, what their students are saying about breakfast, and what their favorite items are. It is with your support that only the highest quality, most nutritious items are served to students in the district each and every day.
