Halloween tradition continues with Halloween Parade

November 10, 2011Students in Halloween costumes

Ghouls and goblins once again invaded Wurtsboro as the traditional Halloween Parade marched down Sullivan Street. The snow and cold weather could not dampen the spirits of the students as they waved to family and friends along the parade route.

The procession of costumed students ended in the school gymnasium where the local Lions Club presented prizes to the winners of the annual pumpkin decorating contest.

Each year, the Lions Club generously donates a pumpkin for each of the students to decorate and awards prizes for the scariest, cutest, and most creative pumpkins in each class.

As always, because the safety of our students is of the utmost concern, the parade could not be possible with out the help of local New York State Police Troopers and the Wurtsboro Fire Department.
