Grief support is available for those in need

We are grateful for all of the folks who came to us today to give support and also to those who received support from our crisis team as we process the loss of Joe Salthouse, a beloved member of our security force here in Monticello.

Our crisis team is available until 2:30 p.m. Friday at RJK Middle School. After that, please know a support network remains in place if you or someone you know is in need. Anyone who needs to speak to someone regarding their grief or loss is encouraged to seek assistance by calling:

  • 211
  • Sullivan County Department of Community Services at 845-292-8770
  • Teen Link to Community (TLC) at 845-791-7429
  • Grief Support from Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties at 845-561-6111

On Monday, July 1, all of Joe’s colleagues and the students he so cared about are invited to come to Monticello High School between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to sign a banner that will be given to his family. Come to the main office to sign in first. The banner will be available in the high school conference room.

Joe Salthouse was a huge part of the Monticello School District family. He meant a lot to so many people. We are truly blessed that he chose to be a Monti Panther. Please know that service information, once received, will be posted on our website.
