Activities Day:
Students
rewarded for good behavior
On May 5,
RJK Middle School hosted an Activities Day to reward the 539
students who went through the entire third marking
period without receiving a referral. The students chose and
then participated in one activity from a list which included
scrap booking, frog dissection, tie dying,
movies, sports, social/dance, cooking, bird house
construction, video and
board games, and mural painting.
The Activities
Day is part of the school's Panther Pride PBIS (Positive
Behavior Intervention and Supports) initiative. An
alternative to traditional discipline programs, PBIS was
developed to prevent discipline problems, while improving
positive behavioral expectations for all students. A
great time was had by both students and teachers!
