The
Robert J. Kaiser Middle School was selected as a recipient of the
2003 Sullivan County Showcase Award as the outstanding municipal
or public building for 2003.
The Middle School received a $2,000 dollar grant in
recognition of this achievement.
The
Robert J. Kaiser Middle School was completed in the Fall of 2000
and provides a state of the art facility for the 900 students who
attend it. The
building was specifically designed to meet the needs of middle
school students and blends
in well with the natural surroundings. The design made it possible
for the Middle School to share Monticello High School's auditorium
which resulted in saving over a million dollars in construction
costs for a separate auditorium.
On
November 13, Deborah Wood, principal of the Robert J. Kaiser
Middle School attended the awards dinner sponsored by the Sullivan
County Board of Realtors' and Sullivan Renaissance. The showcase
awards recognized the efforts of homeowners, business and
municipalities to enhance the appearance of their community.
We
are proud of the commitment shown by district residents in
supporting the construction of the facility and to be recognized
for the building's value to the community.
