Monticello Board of Education welcomes new member

September 2006

During their recent meeting, the Monticello Board of Education voted to admit Ms. Liza Glick as its newest member. She will take the place of Mr. John Pavese who resigned from the Board earlier this year.

Ms. Glick was very excited about her appointment and is looking forward to working with the other Board members and school administrators during the upcoming school year.

"I have had the good fortune of working along side School Superintendent Dr. Michel on several committees during
the past year,” expressed Glick. “These opportunities have further fueled my interest to be part of the new team that leads our school community."

Ms. Glick, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, has been dynamically involved in many community issues and activities throughout the years. She presently resides in Glen Wild with her husband, Todd, and their two children, Skylar and Camryn.

Ms. Glick’s community involvement includes the following:

• PTA President, Cooke / Rutherford 2005 – 2006
• PTA, Active Member 2004 – 2006
• BLT KL Rutherford School – Building Level Team Member, 2004 – 2006
• District Shared Decision Making, Parent Member, 2004 – 2006
• SINI, Rutherford School CEP, Parent Member, 2005 – 2006, worked w/ Administration to develop Comprehensive Educational Plan
• District Safety Plan, Parent Member
• Superintendent Search Committee 2006, Parent Member
• Assistant Superintendent Interview Committee, Parent Member
• Math Tutor Volunteer, Rutherford School, 2 years

Nana’s House Child Care Center, Rock Hill
Non-profit daycare center specializing in Early Childhood education
• Board of Directors & Treasurer 2001-2006
• Actively responsible for controlling annual budget of more than $500,000.00
• Active member of B.O.D. responsible for Payroll, A/P, A/R and daily operations

NYSSRA, New York State Ski Racing Association
Organization that promotes young ski racing athletes in N.Y. State
