Monticello's Assistant
Superintendent sharing her love of literature
January 2007
Assistant Superintendent Ms. Kathleen Pagano-Fuller, spent six years
as an elementary classroom teacher, eight years as a reading
specialist, and seven years as a Director of English Language Arts.
To say that she is passionate about literacy and literacy
instruction is an understatement!

In her new role as Assistant Superintendent she has numerous and
varied responsibilities. However, she is making the time to join
schools and classes in their literacy events. This past fall she
took part in the High School Librarian Eline Hill’s Oktoberfest
Poetry Reading, Rutherford Elementary teacher Debra Levine’s
Memoir Celebration and has read to students in the Cooke,
Rutherford and Chase Elementary Schools. Presently, arrangements are
being made to read to a Duggan Elementary class.
By reading to students and taking part in these events, Ms. Pagano-Fuller
hopes to instill a joy in reading and writing with the students, and
to underscore the importance of literacy instruction and learning
with parents and staff.
