A note about community events on district grounds

July 27, 2017

When you were driving home from work this afternoon, you may have noticed a full parking lot on Monticello High School grounds. An environmental group is hosting a forum in the school’s auditorium tonight (July 27, 2017) – and it drew a large crowd.

As you are likely aware, school facilities are available to the community for non-commercial events so long as the organization submits a building use request form. We want to remind the community that the district is not affiliated with these events or programs, nor does it endorse or assume any of its views.

We understand it may have been surprising for some to see such a big gathering during the summer season, so we wanted to take a moment to clear up any confusion.
