Chase Elementary School once again loses power, all other schools open

Impassable roads will affect busing in some areas

UPDATE 6 a.m., May 17, 2018: Chase Elementary School once again lost power and will not be open on May 17. Although power was breifly restored on Wednesday evening, it again went out in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 17.

The RJK Middle School 6th grade trip will take place.

Multiple roads within the Monticello School District are still impassable as of Wednesday evening. For safety reasons, district buses will not be able to access those roads. This affects approximately 100 school children. If those roads are safe enough for cars to travel, parents/guardians may bring their children to school. If parents/guardians do not feel safe traveling on those roads and their children are absent, those absences will be excused.

Please know that the safety of our children is foremost in the decisions we make.

The following roads have been deemed impassable and will not have bus service on Thursday:
Ballard Road
Dunbar Road
French Clearing Road
Greentree Road
Gregory Road
Haddock Road
Hamilton Road from Route 42 to Wild Cat Road
Plank and North Road
Rod & Gun Road
Rose Valley Road
Sgt. Andrew Brutcher & Gabriel
Starlight Road
Summit Ave.
Sunset Road
Washington Street

Please continue to check the district’s website and facebook page for future updates.
