Free reading tutoring at Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library

A message from the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library:

The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello, in coordination with the Sullivan County Community College Teacher’s Education Program, will begin offering free reading tutoring twice weekly to children in grades K-6. This program will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 21 and continue through May. Sessions will take place Mondays from 3 - 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. Call now to save a time slot for either session. Time slots are one hour long and can be shared by up to three students.

Reading tutoring can benefit all students, not just students who struggle with reading. Benefits of tutoring session include: improving communication skills, encouraging academic achievement, building confidence, and learning new strategies to overcome struggles.

Registration is required as space is limited. To register, or for more information, call 845-794-4660 ext. 5.
